The Wizz Air Marathon in Skopje, otherwise known as the Skopje Marathon, is an annual large-scale athletic event held in the capital city of Macedonia. Usually, the marathon is scheduled around the beginning of May, and traditionally held in Sunday.

With over 10,000 participants competing in 5 separate races – marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay, 5k race, and team building race, the event is one of the largest athletic gatherings taking place on the Balkan Peninsula, and certainly largest in the Republic of Macedonia.
The starting times for each race are different but expect them to begin in 15 minute intervals at the most. The first one is usually the marathon, followed by the half-marathon and then the relay and the 5k race.

Many of the streets of Skopje are empty, and the city becomes uniquely beautiful. The atmosphere is quite vibrant and positive, with even more spectators as compared to running participants.
Each year, renowned athletes from around the world compete for the golden medal, and the level of competition grows exponentially with every annual event.
