Food For Thought is dedicated to feeding the Toledo region in a thoughtful manner. Now in its tenth year, the organization’s 800 volunteers serve over 3,500 families in our region through mobile pantries, a PB&J Lunch Outreach program, and tailored food boxes.

Jill Bunge, Executive Director of the Toledo-based nonprofit, found her passion for food and agriculture at Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT. Graduating with a degree in Environmental Studies, she focused on sustainable agriculture and public policy. An AmeriCorps position centered around food insecurity and community gardens led her to Billings, MT, where she worked with local nonprofits through the Community Development Division of the city to assess and alleviate food deserts. Jill’s AmeriCorps VISTA service year led to a position with the Salvation Army of Billings, where she created and implemented a youth gardening program for two seasons. She returned to Toledo in late 2013 and became Executive Director of Food For Thought in September of 2014.

Jill is happy to be working, living, and playing in Toledo, especially with the palpable energy and momentum around downtown’s revival. Join us as we learn about Jill’s work and the vital role Food For Thought plays in our community.
