Fulton County Solidarity March

June 20, 2020 — 12 - 2pm

Adam Hansen @AdamHansen

This is an open community forum to amply the discussion of racism in our area, demand change, and make our corner of the world a better place to live.

•We will meet at Reighard Park promptly at 12:00 and recognize the names and stories of victims of horrific police brutality. We will then observe an 8 minute 46 second moment of silence in memory of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless others who have senselessly died at the hands of police officers. 8 minutes 46 seconds is how long the officer had his knee on George Floyd’s neck. We encourage you to reflect and/or pray during those 8 minutes/46 seconds of silence. We will then open the floor for community members to freely share their experiences, thoughts, hopes, fears, and ideas. Once the discussion has commenced, we will march from Reighard Park to the Fulton County Courthouse, demanding change to this oppressive system.

•Please wear a mask, bring a blanket to sit on and observe social distancing guidelines.

•Signs are welcome and encouraged.

•We believe that having our children join us in peaceful protests is a healthy way for families to bond and see that we are fighting to change THEIR future to be healthier and free of the hate and injustice that exists today.

•The Wauseon Police Department is aware of this event.

•We cannot stress this enough - THERE WILL BE CHILDREN PRESENT. It is IMPERATIVE that you keep this protest peaceful. DO NOT BRING WEAPONS OR MEGAPHONES.
