FAILED FILMS: A Film & Art Experience

Failed Films is the guts, the glory, the gasping agonal breaths. It’s that sneaking suspicion that there’s something more out there, just beyond your reach. That thing you didn’t know you needed, but suddenly can’t live without. Expressed through film, photography, visual art, and performance, Failed Films brings together artists whose raw and daring works will shake your perception of what art can be. One night only. Not to be missed, never to be repeated.

For this event, Failed Films is partnering with Classic Cars West, an Oakland venue known for its commitment to the survival of the Bay Area’s art communities. Over twenty artists will fill this unique space - projecting film on ceilings, lining the walls with photographs and illustration, and installing interactive live performances. The evening will also feature a sit-down film program - the cap to an event that will leave you both fulfilled and greedy for more.

All of Failed Films’ festival profits will go directly back to our artists, enabling them to continue making work. Since its inception in Fall 2016, our events have successfully featured over one hundred pieces of art, carving out a much needed space for new work and emerging artists. Our goal is to become a sustainable quarterly event that is able to provide grants, resources, and an audience for local artwork with a non-traditional approach.
