Sarah is a Partner at Index Ventures. They are an international venture capital firm investing in technology-enabled companies with a focus on e-commerce, fintech, mobility, gaming, infrastructure/AI, and security. Here, she focuses primarily on growth stage opportunities. She’s particularly interested in consumer businesses, as well as productivity and data analytics tools for the enterprise. She is also a board observer at Slack.

Previously, Sarah was at CapitalG, Alphabet’s Growth Equity Fund where she spent 4 years investing in companies including Looker, MultiPlan, Oscar and Care.com. She was also a Policy Advisor on the National Economic Council at the White House during the Obama Administration. She also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and spent a year in Ghana as a Fulbright Scholar.

Julie Wainwright is the founder and CEO of The RealReal. It started small with her working at her kitchen table and visiting consignor homes with a U-Haul. Today, it’s the premier site for online luxury consignment with over 600 employees and multiple locations across the United States that accept and ship product worldwide.

Julie is also an advisor to Springboard Enterprises’ New York Fashion Tech Lab and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. She has been a board member of the Headlands Center for the Arts, Magic Theatre and San Francisco Art Institute. The San Francisco Business Times recognized Wainwright as one of the most-admired CEOs of the year in 2014, and again in 2017 as one of the most influential women of the year.
