B I T M A P: as good as new is the official adjunct visual art exhibition to the Blip Festival, curated by Marcin Ramocki and held at acclaimed Brooklyn gallery vertexList. Special exhibition opening party on 11 24 featuring a rare east coast live performance by x|k. Staunch DIY engineering advocate and the developer of the custom MIDINES hardware interface heard on tracks by Bogdan Raczynski and Venetian Snares, x|k issues intense, visceral, minimal, hard-hitting electronics that defy the humble nature of the off-the-shelf NES hardware he adopts.

The exhibition as a whole runs until Sunday February 3rd 2008. Official description is as follows:

vertexList space and the Blip Festival have the pleasure to present BITMAP: as good as new, a group exhibition celebrating the history of the digital image, the aesthetics of early computing and early video-game consoles. Expect pixels, old monitors and low bit sounds.

A reception will take place at vertexList on Saturday, November 24th 2007 from 7pm - 10pm.

The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, February 3rd, 2008.
