Withnail and I (HD) September 11, 2007

The last film in the BBC/UK Film Council Summer of British Film season ‘Withnail and I’ is coming to the big screen for the first time since its release. For one night only, on Tuesday 11 September, 136 cinemas across the UK will be showing a special digitally remastered, Hi-Definition version of the film.

Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Bruce Robinson made his directorial debut with ‘Withnail and I’ in 1987. Since then, the film has become a cult British comedy. Set in the late 60s, two out-of-work actors and flatmates Withnail (Richard E Grant) and ‘I’ (Paul McGann) take a trip to the country for a well-needed break, but they get much, much more than they bargained for.
