'Within & Beyond' is the latest exhibition from Reflection Art Gallery & Studios, showcasing latest works by artist Ranjan Mallik.

In 'Within and Beyond' Ranjan Mallik explores the question: 'What is of value in a modern society?' With three distinct sets of works, Mallik examines what we gain and what we lose in a fragmented world obsessed with novelty. Something goes missing when technology displaces the natural, as seen in Malliks delightful series juxtapositioning animals with modern life. In his eye-catching set of abstracts Mallik reworks the rainbow, showing that we are inundated with colour yet have lost the basic shape and form of life. Even the world of art is not exempt and Mallik seeks to prove the relevancy of folk art and the traditional among and alongside the hyper-contemporary. What is of value begins with what is within, and has the strength to reach into what is beyond.
