Walt Reid: 'Prospects for Human Well-Being' October 25, 2005

The 2005 Millennium Ecosystem Assessment is the largest assessment of the health of the natural world ever undertaken. Dr. Walt Reid, a zoologist and expert in biodiversity, directed this ground-breaking report which highlights the global importance of natural systems and human influences on them. The assessment documents how world-wide ecosystems have changed over the past 50 years and how those changes affect human well-being and poverty. Dr. Reid will address these questions and others, and talks about how the results are being used around the world to shape public and private sector decisions. Sponsored by The Brainerd Foundation.
