Visit to Kanha National Park on 19/5 - 20/5/2012. May 18, 2012

Kanha National Park is a Tiger Reserve in the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh, India. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book "

The itinerary is as follows:

18 th May 2012
8.30 PM Board Train / Bus to Nagpur

19 th May 2012
Pick up from Nagpur railway station and proceed to Kanha .
Check into Tourist Hostel .
Evening Safari and Overnight stay.

20 th May 2012
5.00 am - Tiger expedition safari in Kanha Forest by jeep.
2.00 PM lunch
5 PM proceed to Nagpur to catch the return train / Bus.

Primary travel by train. in-case of no train we will travel by Bus which may cost extra.

( We will try to squeeze in an extra Safari at Pench Tiger reserve while returning if time permits. This will be at an additional cost of Rs. 800.00 per head.)

Photography

It is said Kanha is among the best places in the world to photograph tigers along with swamp deer, langurs, birds, etc.

Things to bring

* Drab clothing that can get camouflaged in the jungle - preferably full sleeves and full pants
* Toiletries
* Water bottles, glucon D, electrolytes, snack bars
* Your best cameras with computer connecting cable for the photography session.
* Sunshade/ Sunglasses/ Hats/ Caps/ Kerchief to tie on the head
* Sunblock cream
* Original Govt Issued Id card like Driving license / PAN card / Voter Id card / Passport
* Foreigners need to carry their Original Passports.
