In The Whole Brain Path to Peace, author James Olson explores destructive polarizations that can occur-in politics, culture, and our relationships-when one brain hemisphere is dominated by the other. To achieve peace and harmony we must consciously integrate the contrasting world views of both hemispheres.

Drawing on scientific and spiritual sources, Olson examines the relationship between brain dominance, perspective, and perception. We can alter our perception-and thus our behavior-by controlling our perspective.

Many of our problems could be easily solved, if not avoided entirely, if only we were more aware of the effects of a dualistic perspective. If our goal is to live in peace, Olson believes more holistic thinking will overcome the polarizing effect of our relatively dualistic left brain by integrating it with our right brain.

Perception is largely based on two channels of information fed to us from the dualistic left brain and holistic right brain, each with its own unique perspective. Noting that one side of our brain always tends to dominate, James Olson takes a crucial step beyond the science of brain lateralization, inspiring a new way of perceiving your world through whole-brain living.

A whole-brain perspective allows us to see the complementary nature of the two sides, and thus helps to resolve conflicts and achieve greater balance.

Olson suggests we use our whole brain to enrich our lives and nurture individual and collective peace. His presentation will explore the effects of brain perspective on government, corporate life, war, and our personal lives.
