HOLLYWOOD'S COLLISION FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST ANNUAL INDEPENDENT FILM, MUSIC, AND ART SHOWCASE

"A revolutionary, innovative collaboration of headliners such as Adult Swim, Slamdance, Zero Fest and Bizzurke Army UFM, "The First Annual Engine Collision Fest" is set to take place in Hollywood from February 26th thru March 8th, 2009.

Located at Studio 1636, the festival will occur amidst breath-taking art installations from some of the world's most renowned artists, such as Kofie One and Sonik Mercury. The intimate space, fitting only one to two hundred attendees each evening, will host a nearly two-week run of events.

Over the course of the 11 days, a slew of creative minds, ranging from David Lynch to Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon, will participate by bringing in fresh material to screen, perform, and share with those in attendance. Also participating in this year's inaugural events will be, Warhol Superstar Cherry Vanilla, writer/director Jennifer Lynch, musical acts Warpaint & Black Bird, video artist Phillip Virus, actress and musician Shannyn Sossoman, and artists Mear One & Grace Oh, with special secret guests to be announced. Additionally, a run of feature film presentations, such as the Sundance cult phenomenon "American Astronaut", by Cory McAbee, and the German bi-opic "8 Miles High", about the story of 60's ingénue Uschi, will be apart of the roster. A handful more of globally recognized and Oscar-nominated filmmakers from countries such as Belgium, Italy, India, China, Greece, Switzerland and the U.S., will round out the mix.

All films will be screened onto 'The Engine', a kinetic sculpture/projection hybrid that redefines the notion of 'art presentation' and ushers in a new era of independent screening venues. Designed to be equal in form and function, the one thousand pound steel sculpture houses a rotating sixteen-foot screen and features a state-of-the-art audio/video system.
In an effort to maintain exclusivity, 'The Engine' debuted at the Architecture and Design Museum of Los Angeles and has been featured at such high-profile events as the Coachella Music & Art Festival and Museum Square¹s Tar Fest.
