The 6th Annual ECNY Awards March 8, 2010

The ECNY Awards, New York's original comedy awards ceremony, returns to the Comix stage on March 8th, and you are cordially invited to the ceremony, where you can see the stars of tomorrow, today!

The ECNYs celebrates the comedic performing arts in New York City by honoring the best and funniest performers, shows, and producers working in the field. “The ECNY Awards will now, more than ever, serve as a reflection of what is going on in New York comedy,” said ECNY producer Alex Goldberg. “We're seeing an explosion of talent in the city right now and how better to honor that than with an overblown, self-important awards show?”

Nominees were selected after a public nomination process, and voting by a committee composed of industry professionals. The winners will be announced onstage at Comix by several past winners and random comedic “celebrities” including legendary mega-host, Jon Friedman (“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”). Once again, this year’s Best Emerging Comic will be presented by Andrew WK.

The ECNY Awards are produced by Jon Friedman (The Rejection Show), Alex Goldberg (Fearsome), Carol Hartsell (Drink at Work), Nate Sloan (The Apiary), and Alexander Zalben (SketchFest NYC).

This year will also include two new categories: Best Comedic Book and Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Tweeting.
