Fifteen full hours with master instructor, performer and choreographer Suhaila Salimpour. To learn more about Suhaila, please visit www.therealsuhaila.com. This is a limited enrollment event - so please register early to secure your spot. This weekend is open to all dancers - no certification required. This weekend is not Level specific and therewill not be certification testing of any kind. The weekend will be filled with information and movement in both the Suhaila Salimpour format as well as the Jamila Salimpour format (Sunday morning).

EVENT SCHEDULE

Friday PM - MASTER CLASSThis class will be sure to challenge us all and open our eyes to new possibilities and exciting combinations of layering movement. Previous experience in the Suhaila Salimpour format is a bonus but not required. Sometimes you just have to jump in with both feet.
--Registration at 5:30pm--Classfrom 6pm - 9pmSaturdayAM - SUHAILA FORMATExperience the Salimpour format concepts and movements via muscular explanation breakdown, drilling and jazz fusion dance movements. Although this is not a certification workshop, students will gain a deeper understanding of her overall format and the possibilities it offers.

Lunch Break 12:30 - 1:30pmSeveral restaurant options close by.
SaturdayPM -DRUM SOLO CHOREOGRAPHYFrom the mind of Suhaila Salimpour, each choreography is a new exploration of pattern, movement and musical interpretation.
--Class from 1:30pm - 4:30pm
SaturdayPM- DINNER AND A SHOWat Copa Bar and Grill in downtown Austin on Congress Ave. between 2nd and 3rd. Paid parking lot conveniently located behind the club; street parking also available. Doors open 7:00pmShowtime 7:45pm - 9:45pmTickets available at the door $10Seating on a first come, first served basis. Food and beverages available for purchase (more info TBA on cuisine).Stay after the show for salsa dancing!
SundayAM - JAMILA FORMAT BASICS TECHNIQUE AND COMBOSJamila Salimpour is the mother of tribal bellydance; her format is the foundation and inspiration for generations of dancers in the US. See footage of Jamila. Learn about the new Jamila Salimpour certification program requirements. Remember to bring your finger cymbals for drills, Folkloric Fusion style!

SundayPM -LAYERING TAQSEEMCHOREOGRAPHYYou'll never think of a taqseem the same way again! Spend Sunday afternoon learning a choreography with layering options like no other.
