Studio 42's UNPRODUCIBLE SMACKDOWN! March 31, 2012

Featuring new works by Rob Askins (Hand to God), Bekah Brunstetter (Oohrah!), Joshua Conkel (MilkMilkLemonade), Nick Jones (The Coward), Gregory S. Moss (punkplay, Studio 42's Billy Witch) and Crystal Skillman (Cut). Direction by Stephen Brackett (Partial Comfort Productions' After), Julie Foh (Red Fern's Occupied), Kel Haney (Red Fern's Good Egg) and Jen Wineman (Ars Nova's Estrella Cruz [The Junkyard Queen]).

The Smackdown is a below-the-belt, no-holds-barred, best of the best heavyweight championship of the city's most deliciously "unproducible" playwrights, all vying to be named the most "unproducible" of them all. Highlights, aside from the performances of the five short adventurous pieces, include celebrity judges, audience voting, raffles, free drinks, and homemade dessert buffet.

The Unproducible Smackdown will feature performances by Brian Belcinski (Studio 42's My Base and Scurvy Heart), Stephen Graybill (Primary Stages' The Earth Moved), Frank Harts (A Raison in the Sun), Alex Herrald (Gene Frankel Theatre's A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer), Amy Landon (Studio 42's My Base and Scurvy Heart), Desiree Matthews (Lurking in Suburbia), David Mitsch (Studio 42's Billy Witch), Allyson Morgan (Studio 42's Billy Witch), Maria-Christina Oliveras (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Joe Paulik (Public Theater's Timon of Athens), Amelia Pedlow (Denver Center's The Liar), Will Roland (Studio 42's Billy Witch), Lance Rubin (Ars Nova's Bloodsong of Love), Natalie Saibel (Studio 42's The Sporting Life), Sandra Struthers-Clerc (Studio 42's My Base and Scurvy Heart) and Joe Tapper (Huntington's How Shakespeare Won the West).

Studio 42 has become known for its quickly-growing repertoire of "unproducible" plays, recent productions include Billy Witch by Gregory S. Moss (2012); My Base and Scurvy Heart by Adam Szymkowicz (2011); and The Sporting Life by Nick Jones & Rachel Shukert (2010).
