Tomorrow (Friday, April 24) at 7:00 PM, eight fantastic poets collect to tell the story of how and why they first dove into that poetic current. The event is free and open to any who want to come, but is highly recommended for those who write or know someone who writes, as well as those who read. Studies have also shown that persons who breathe benefit from poetry, and should seriously consider attending. Finally, attendance is mandatory for those who are set to catch a movie but are prescient enough to know that afterwards, they will want their 2 hours and $40 back. With Split Personalities, you won't spend $40, and you'll wish the whole thing went longer.

Come to 910 Arts (on 910 Santa Fe) and meet some Lighthouse faculty, some other writers, and a few random strangers who wander in.

You'll hear/see/meet:

* Aaron Anstett, unreformed bad-boy poet laureate of Colorado Springs
* Kathryn T.S. Bass, poet and writer who grows her own veggies
* John Brehm, fancy Boulder poet snatched out of the clutches of NYC
* Matthew Cooperman, sadly probably can't make it, but we can't let go
* Michael J. Henry, tall poet who co-founded Lighthouse and gave it its strange name
* Kimberly McClintock, award-winning poet representing for the 'burbs
* Chris Ransick, motorcycle riding poet laureate of Denver
* David Rothman, poet who also plays jazz piano and tells punny jokes
* Jake Adam York, director of creative writing at CU Denver and famous whiskey connoisseur

Beverages will be available for purchase and complimentary light appetizers (to blunt the poetic buzz) will be provided.

If you think of it and haven't already, an RSVP would be splendid! See you there.

(I'm not associated with Lighthouse, just a random dude who thinks this looks interesting and felt like putting it on Upcoming.)
