SL Morse at Neighborhood Public Radio April 14, 2007

Sarah Lockhart's conceptual art project for the radio, translating context-specific texts into morse code and the morse code into music, performed on drum set. Upon further consideration, SL determined that this idea was worth exploring as music, with the morse code falling somewhere between chance composition and a simple graphic score guiding improvisation. SL will be with Suki (SL) O'Kane and others TBA exploring NPR's theme for the day: "Deceit" with morse code drumming of "Miriam Abacha's Greatest Hits" - using texts from Nigerian spam.
