RSA Training Queensland in conjunction with the Outback Queensland Tourism Authority (OQTA) will be delivering Responsible Service of Alcohol Courses to Outback Queensland.

This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to satisfy the requirements for responsible service of alcohol under State/Territory legislation. Evidence of competence must include demonstrated knowledge of legislation as detailed throughout the unit and must also the underpinning reasons for and benefits of responsible service of alcohol reforms.

Gaining certification in Responsible Service of Alcohol is important for all committees, volunteers and support staff who work on community events. Queensland Liquor Licensing has recently indicated that, while all permit applications are judged on their own merits, an easier stance may be taken with Security if the events committee/community can demonstrate a commitment to safety and alcohol management by training liquor servers in Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol THHBFB09. There may also be opportunities for lower premiums from some insurers.
