Not long ago, when Europe dominated the wine market and California vines were still quite young, no one believed it was possible to successfully grow wine grapes in Oregon. Since the 1960’s, however, when the first grapes were planted and the Oregon Winegrowers Association was founded, Oregon has become one of the premiere wine-growing regions in the country, rivaling even California’s internationally renowned Napa Valley. Oregon’s balance of rain and sunshine, and its location along the same latitude as France’s Burgundy region, has made many offerings from this wine region, especially Pinot Noir, favorites among wine connoisseurs. Our Oregon winery, WillaKenzie Estate, is an award-winning, eco-conscious winery in the Willamette Valley known for its sustainable farming practices.

When it comes to the art of wine, Washington State certainly knows its terroir –the combination of soil, climate and geography that makes all wines distinct from each other. Ideal soils, extensive sunlight and warm days with cool nights, mean Washington produces some of the best wines in the world. Washington State shares the same latitude as the famed Bordeaux wine region of France. The state’s geographic make-up includes a variety of microclimates for wine grapes to thrive. Our Washington winery, Novelty Hill, features a great vineyard, an experienced and sensitive winemaker, and a price-to-value ratio that is among the best in the country.
