What: Amtrak will celebrate America’s love for rail travel at the second annual National Train Day in Los Angeles. An experience for the whole family, National Train Day allows Americans to Discover the Rail Way while enjoying live musical entertainment by Matt Costa and Chana, as well as numerous educational and interactive displays about the past, present and future of train travel.

Train enthusiasts will enjoy an interactive Eco Exhibit, displays of model railroads as well as real Amtrak and historic train cars, paintings from notable train artist, J. Craig Thorpe, and more. The Amtrakids Depot will feature educational hands-on activities, appearances by Radio Disney AM 1110’s Road Crew, magicians and face painters. There will also be Amtrak employees such as train engineers and conductors on hand to answer questions.

Exclusively in Los Angeles, a sneak peek of Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour, powered by HP, driven by Amtrak, will be featured. State of the art train cars will be displayed and attendees will have a chance to learn about the making of Robert Zemeckis’ 3D animated film, A Christmas Carol, starring Jim Carrey.
