So you've got Final Cut Studio and you've already got Motion sitting there as one of the packages in the suite. But you are not making full use of all the software packages. This course will prep editors to be able to add titles and lower-third graphics into their existing workflow. Covering both technical expertise and artistic choices.

Who is this course for:
This course is aimed at FCP users who have (ideally)1 year or more of experience using FCP and will have a requirement to create graphics and titles in FCP. - If you do not have 1 years experience in FCP but would like to discuss attending this course please contact us.

2 day course content:
- create titles and lower thirds, enhance them in Motion and render out of FCP
- locate the tools required in the Motion interface
- animate display text and items on the screen quickly and easily without keyframes
- quickly create unique graphic backgrounds
- identify the 3 basic principles of animation
- discuss the use of different fonts for display text
- apply the virtual camera to screen elements in 3D
- use blend modes to enhance footage
- operate the behaviours that control re-timing footage and speed changes
- identify when to use FCP for titles and when to use Motion
- practice these new techniques in a learning situation

You will take away project files and the media resources with examples of graphics you have worked on.

Location: The course takes place in 01zero-ones fully equipped Mac suite in Soho. Each student learns on a 27" IMac. This course is being delivered by Ravensbourne College and 01zero-one as partners in the Ravensbourne Skillset Media Academy.

Tutor: Simon Walker has been Filming, Editing, Designing & Animating short-films and motion graphics sequences for over 10 years. He has a full broadcast post-production studio with capabilities to film, edit, shoot and composite green/blue screen footage and design 2D & 3D animations. Simon is an Apple Certified Professional in video editing & motion graphics and in addition is an Apple Certified Trainer (FCP & Motion). Simon wrote, edited and produced multiple training projects, delivered on CD-ROM to Somerfield staff. The Passion For Produce title won Best Training Package at the National Training Awards.
