Lisa Margonelli
Oil on the Brain: Adventures from the Pump to the Pipeline
In conversation with
Joanna Pearlstein,
WIRED research editor

Margonelli, an intrepid journalist, starts at a local gas station and journeys up the supply chain to oilfields in Venezuela, Chad, Iran, and Nigeria. As Fast Food Nation changed how we think about hamburgers, this book will do the same for what goes into our gas tanks.

Lisa Margonelli has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, WIRED, Business 2.0, Discover, and Jane. The recipient of a Sundance Institute Fellowship and an Excellence in Journalism Award from the Northern California Society of Professional Journalists, she is currently an Irvine Fellow at the New America Foundation. She lives in Oakland, CA.
