San Jose Obon Festival
Obon features 'Bon Odori' folk dancing, live music and taiko, flowers, carnival games, and delicious food. Beautiful lit lanterns decorate 5th Street for the evening dancing, which brings over 800 participants and hundreds of spectators.
Music performances feature the Chidori Band and taiko by San Jose Taiko, UC Irvine Jodaiko and UCSD Asayake Taiko. It is a bright, charming event in the heart of San Jose's Japantown for families and people of all ages.
