Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives.
Helvetica will have its World Premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 13. The Boston premier will be produced by Eventworks at MassArt on April 11. The event will consist of a film screening, a graphic design exhibit and a Q&A with the film's director and graphic designers.
