P.O Box : 6237
Salmiya, Kuwait 22073

The festival will feature five Australian films over two days - all are feature-length, high-quality movies, ranging from comedy (the festival opener, Strictly Ballroom) to action (Ned Kelly, closing the festival). In between, we've got thriller (The Tracker), family-friendly adventure (The Man from Snowy River), and a top-quality drama (Rabbit-Proof Fence, an Aboriginal production). The screening schedule is attached, along with synopses of each film, and a copy of the English-language festival poster.

All films are subtitled in Arabic, all are free and open to the public. I'd like as many people as possible to come to the festival, so please, spread the word to anyone who might be interested.

The festival will open with a reception - 7:00pm Wednesday at Sha'ab Cinema. There'll be food and drinks, and (hopefully) some cute little Australianisms to give away. The reception will be followed at 8:00pm by a screening of Strictly Ballroom, which is a great film - it was Baz Lurhmann's break-through hit, about love and vengeance on the ballroom dancing circuit. (Lurhmann later made Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge, in a similar, over-the-top Hollywood style.) It would be great it you could come - invitation attached.
