EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC VIDEO PRODUCTION

WITH AUSTRALIAN NEW-MEDIA ARTISTS EMMA STERLING + DAN MONCEAUX

This workshop tears apart the dominant formulae for music video production, and encourages artistic re-invention of the form. Instructors Dan Monceaux and Emma Sterling deconstruct pieces from their own oeuvre, and presents works from other artists who have taken risks with their productions and reaped the rewards. They will address the relationship between video maker and musician, finding an audience for your work, and will offer production advice specific to participants levels of experience. People with ideas, completed works or works in progress are encouraged to bring their work along for this collaborative session.

Instructors: For the past two years, South Australian artists Dan Monceaux and Emma Sterling have been developing an exciting new body of work in the new media sphere. Founder of Danimations, Dan Monceaux is a freelance artist who has worked in a broad range of media. He enjoys seeking out and crafting pieces grounded in reality as much as he does exploring the formal relationships of sound and moving image. Emma Sterling is an accomplished artist, photgrapher, editor, and experimental and documentary filmmaker. She is currently editing new fine art moving image works for exhibition and performance.
