Peninsula Volunteers is now offering 3 new and exciting classes in addition to the ones we currently provide. They are:

Anthropology Through Collage: Excavating Your Own Life

Through creating collages and artists' statements, students will develop core artistic and anthropological processes that generate personal revelations, cultural linkages and discovery of our common stories. Instructor Anne Menne is an anthropologist, interdisciplinary artist and writer with 30 years of international experience.

Introduction to Drawing

This class welcomes students of all levels and abilities who want to explore the basics of drawing with pencil, ink, conte and colored pencil. Working in the classroom from photos, we will cover composition, form, light and shadow, the theory of color, drawing papers and materials. Students will learn a variety of techniques including blending, hatching, burnishing and an introduction to
perspective drawing. Class is taught by Brian Lamprell, a professor at The San Francisco Academy of Art.

Dates: October 17-November 21
Adult Class: Wednesdays, 7:00PM - 8:30PM
Kids Class: Wednesdays, 3:30PM - 5:00 PM
Cost: $120.00 (plus $20 for materials)

Holiday Decoration

Join us for a fun eight week class in creating festive decorations for the holidays. Students will begin with a Fall Cornucopia followed by a Leaf Wreath, Christmas Button Ornament, Pinecone Wreath, Crystal Star Ornament and Christmas Centerpiece.

Dates: October 11 - December 8
Thursdays, 9:30AM-11:30AM
Cost: $20 per student per session
