"Eldar's incredible hands already have him sounding like a young Art Tatum."
JazzTimes

"When he's not knocking you out with his sheer keyboard speed, Eldar seduces you with gorgeously reharmonized balladry and surprises with complex rhythmic and stylistic changes."
Boston Globe

Pianist Eldar is already one of the most talked about and celebrated artists in jazz. Eldar left his native Kyrgyzstan for the United States in 1998, a boy of 11 with a slight grasp of English but an astonishing natural talent that immediately captured the attention of the jazz world. In the last seven years, with the support of his family, he has established American roots as he continued his education, absorbed the culture, honed his technical skills and emerged as one of the most distinctive jazz pianists of the new generation. With two albums already to his credit, Eldar has dazzled audiences at jazz festivals across the United States, taken top prize in several competitions, and won the respect of Marian McPartland who hosted him on her "Piano Jazz" series on NPR. A year after he made a critically acclaimed debut on the Sony Classical label with a self-titled album, the young jazz pianist Eldar returns with Eldar Live At The Blue Note, released in May and recorded during performances at New York’s Blue Note and featuring as special guests a pair of jazz trumpet virtuosos, Chris Botti and Roy Hargrove.
