Long before True Love Waits, his groundbreaking recording of Radiohead transcriptions, Christopher O’Riley was widely regarded as an accomplished classical pianist whose poetic gifts and captivating virtuosity have made him one of today’s most versatile artists. A critical and commercial success, True Love Waits received four stars from Rolling Stone and was hailed for providing new insight into the pop group’s lovely brooding melodies. Following his performance of Elliott Smith works, O’Riley returns to Royce Hall to perform the music of the enigmatic British folk singer Nick Drake, who died in 1974 after releasing just three immensely influential albums.
