CATCH A WAVE AND KELLY CALDWELL IN A SPECIAL BENEFIT FOR THE ANN ARBOR BOOK FESTIVAL
CATCH A WAVE is a collaborative project started by longtime friends Aleise Barnett and Patrick Elkins. We are currently recording our debut album for Chew Your Own Records, which is scheduled to be released at the beginning of May. The album is composed entirely of original indie-pop and folk songs recorded in the a cappella style. Aleise has been a member of bands such as Dabenport, Pineapple Cat, and the Shy Violets and has recorded with Saturday Looks Good To Me. Patrick Elkins has released three solo albums, the most recent of which ("The New Folk Sounds of Patrick Elkins" on We're Twins Records) has received significant attention in local and international press and has charted on several college radio stations.

KELLY CALDWELL
Kelly Caldwell recently released her second solo album, "Banner of a Hundred Hearts", on Fred Thomas' label, Ypsilanti Records. As well as being a renowned singer-songwriter, Kelly has been a member of Showdown at the Equator, Saturday Looks Good To Me, And Spiders, Black Forest Girls and Savacald. "The new album, Banner Of A Hundred Hearts, is just that-personal and direct. It's a kick-me-while-I'm-down cannonade of lovesick ballads that would make even Kittie Wells hide the razor blades. It is polar opposite from Septembre Girl. Rather than a cavorting, summery record with little else than Caldwell, her guitar, and Thomas' irreproachable producing abilities, Banner Of A Hundred Hearts exposes Caldwell for the truly ethereal, beautifully cathartic songwriter that she is." --Ann Arbor Paper
