Caltech-Occidental Concert Band presents their annual winter concert on Saturday, February 19th at 7:30 pm in Thorne Hall, Occidental College, in Eagle Rock.
This will be the concert band’s last concert before heading off to China to perform two concerts in Beijing. One concert will be at the nearby Great Wall and the other performance will take place at the Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

Featured on this free concert will be guest conductor, Donald Yaeger, who is the former director of the bands at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan.

There will also be two world premieres by the father – son team of Leslie and Elliot Deutsch.

Another highlight will be a performance of one of the best-loved works for concert band, “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith. The concert will conclude with “Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite”, by Karl King. This is a march written to remind everyone of a visit to the circus. It’s lot of fun and a great way to end an evening out with the family.

This concert is free and open to the public. Parking is also free. For more information: call the Caltech Music Office at 626 395-3295 or visit the band’s
