SPEAKER: Angela Smith, Entrepreneur and Wilderness Travel Guide

Angela owns and operates Ocean Rose Coastal Adventures, a marine tourism company based on Northern Vancouver Island. With close to a decade dedicated to observing coastal British Columbia's wildlife, her specialty has become catering to wilderness photographers trying to capture images of coastal wildlife, including Killer Whales, Grizzly Bears, Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, and Stellar Sea lions. Credits to her company include shooting well known BBC Wildlife productions, filming with Discovery Channel, and working extensively with world renowned wildlife photographers. Angela is also dedicated to many environmental causes on the coast, and works in partnership on various research projects and with several well known environmental organizations. In the fashion of a sea captain, she's amassed a multitude of colourful stories related to the many facets of coastal living. The challenges of running a seasonal business and working in the marine industry round out her experiences and tales of coastal living.

DESCRIPTION: Angela Smith will present a slide presentation for us, featuring her photography, which depicts the varied experiences of a mariner on BC's remote coast.

LOCATION: Meeting Room, ABC Country Restaurant, 6500 East Hastings Street (at Kensington), Burnaby

TIME: 6:00-6:30 pm gather, register, social, network; 6:30-7:30 pm dinner, meeting; 7:30-8:30 pm speaker and closing thought.
