2009 CATA Symposium

Current Approaches to Management of Sports-Related Concussion: Practical Applications

This course is designed for Athletic Trainers, Physicians, Neuropsychologists, School Nurses, and others who are involved in the assessment and management of athletes sustaining concussion.

Current Approaches to Management of Sports-Related Concussion: Practical Applications will provide Athletic Trainers, Physicians, and other allied health professionals with the latest information and research into the management of sports-related concussion, while striving to provide practical information that can be incorporated into practice immediately. Topics will include: recognition, evaluation, and management of sports-related concussion; recent changes in practice standards for determination of concussion severity; the role of cognitive rest in recovery; neuropsychological testing and related issues; post-concussion syndrome; and return to play issues.

A concurrent workshop for Athletic Trainers, on clinical utilization of ImPACT, is available with limited enrollment at no extra charge. Post-Symposium Workshops on utilizing craniosacral therapy for treatment of concussion symptoms, and on ImPACT testing are available at an extra charge and will be worth 2 additional CEUs. A Post-Symposium Student AT Workshop is being offered at no extra charge. You must be registered for the CATA Symposium in order to attend Post-Symposium Workshops.
