The evening is a tribute to the incredible musicianship of Bessie Smith filled with stories about her life and musical history. The music will be performed by various artists, all from local progressive jazz/experimental music scene in LA, including Killsonic Women's Choir, Bodies of Water, Eagle and Talon, The Cat Hair Ensemble, Dorian Wood, Smells Like Flan, Mooey Moobau, Ema and The Ghosts, Marshweed, El Haru Koi, Master/Slave, The Cobra Lilies and many others including Suzy Williams, one of the greatest interpreters of Bessie's songs.
