As you may or may not know, the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corp. held a Public Forum on January 23rd regarding Lake Ontario Park . Currently, the planning process is in the 'open' stage, meaning the TWRC is seeking input from various interest groups. In an impressive show of force, many (many!) people from the sailing community showed up and voiced their interests loud and clear. They made it obvious that they were going to be active about plans regarding the waterfront's future. Where was the cycling community in all this, you may ask? If they were present at all, they were virtually invisible and unheard.

I am calling a meeting for any and all cycling advocacy and interest groups to come to an idea sharing and strategy planning meeting next week. We should discuss how, as cyclists, we envision the waterfront as a recreation destination. Below are links for the TWRC's presentation on Lake Ontario Park . I recommend you review it and present to the group what you like / dislike about the plans they propose.

I would like to create a list of ideas to incorporate into Lake Ontario Park which will in turn be presented to the TWRC (who might actually attend), but presented as a unified community.
