On Saturday, March 17th, legendary Living Colour guitarist and Black Rock Coalition founder Vernon Reid will join Philadelphia’s own Jamaaladeen Tacuma (bass) and G. Calvin Weston (drums) for an unforgettable one-night-only performance at Tritone. In addition to his 20-plus years with Living Colour, the Grammy-award winning Reid has had a critically-acclaimed solo career, including projects with DJ Logic, Masque, the Roots, Salif Keita, and James “Blood” Ulmer.

Thundering bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma’s resume includes such varied collaborations as Carlos Santana, Amiri Baraka, Jeff Beck, Jean Paul Bourelly, the Roots, and Odeon Pope. He has appeared on Saturday Night Live and with the David Letterman band. Drummer G. Calvin Weston has been pounding away ever since seeing Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, and James Brown at the Uptown on Broad Street. Weston went on to record and tour with Ornette Coleman, Tricky, Medeski Martin & Wood, Derek Bailey, and his playing can be heard on several movies, including Get Shorty.
Tickets will be $15 at the door, but a limited number of $12 advance tickets are available online by visiting this link:

A ridiculously freakish night of live music featuring Grammy-winner/Living Colour creator-guitarist/Black Rock Coalition founder Vernon Reid has now gotten even better with the addition of a performance by Phil Moore Browne, the Philly-New York zigabooafropunkgospel quintet. Their latest CD, Baggage Smasher, is really quite good, but their performances, known for their frenetic energy, are even better. To check out their sound, visit myspace.com/philmoorebrowne

Following Phil Moore Browne's set, guitarist Vernon Reid will take the stage with Philly music masters G. Calvin Weston (drums) and Jamaaladeen Tacuma (bass). The combined resume of the three includes the Roots, Salif Keita, James Blood Ulmer, Santana, Odeon Pope, and daddy of free jazz, Ornette Coleman.
