Rick Prelinger will be showing films of old San Francisco. From the program notes: "Film is rich and often vivid evidence backing up imperfect memories and infusing institutional histories with traces of everyday life. Drawing from silent and early sound films, exuberant early-1960s city views, diverse home movies and industrial films, this program will include rarely-seen views of San Francisco. We hope the audience will help identify mystery scenes!"

This was unbelievably cool! Mr. Prelinger's collection is a must-see for anybody who loves SF. When it shows up again somewhere, check it out.

BTW, he did what I would call a "live-wiki" where the audience was able to shout locations and commentary. It was wonderful.
