The Killer Coke Coalition demands that the University
require Coca-Cola to reform their business practices to
adhere to ethical standards. If Coca-Cola does not change
its practices of violation of basic human right, we
demand that the University stop doing business with
the Coca-Cola Company. Institutions of conscience
should not support Companies which profit from human
rights violations, Environmental abuse, and exploitation.

Coca-Cola in India is guilty of: Causing severe water
shortages for communities across India, Polluting
groudwaater and soil around its bottling Facilities,
Distributing its toxic waste as ?fertilizer? to
farmers, selling drinks with extremely high levels of
pesticides.

In Colombia Coca-Cola is guilty of: major human rights
violations, including 9 murders of union activists,
the torture and abduction of family members of union
activists. The tacit approval of paramilitary groups
accessing the factories, making work a dangerous place
for workers, and firing of workers for speaking out
against the violence.

In El Salvador, Coke is guilty of buying sugar from
companies that hire children as young as eight years
old to use machetes to cut sugar cane, working for up
to nine hours a day in the hot sun. Gashes on the hands
and legs are not uncommon. Medical care is often not
available, and when it is, the cost is usually borne
by the families of injured children. (info based on a
Human Rights Watch investigation).

Join people protesting Coca-Cola around the world from
India, to Mexico, to Italy.
