GreenCamp is gathering to discuss, learn and share our knowledge and experience of environmental innovation. It is about seeking tools to solve the problems that we are facing as individuals, communities and a species. It is about finding how these tools can be put to use. It is ultimately about what we can do.

I hoping have this be about innovation and problem-solving,and what we can do as business and NGOs.

**Description**

Greencamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. GreenCamp follows the model formed by [http://barcamp.org/|BarCamp] but with a focus on environmental solutions (does it follow [http://barcamp.org/|BarCamp] or [http://barcamp.org/DemoCamp|DemoCamp] format?).

We are aiming to have our first gathering on Tuesday, Febuary 6, 2007.

If you want to present, or if you have other questions email us at [email protected]

[Presentations] should be 10 minutes long with 5 minutes for questions

1. Micheal Dunbar. [http://www.zerofootprint.net|Zerofootprint]
2. Chris Lowry. [http://www.greenenterprise.net|Green Enterprise Toronto]

The event is free.

Jacoby you should do this at the Indoor Playground. I'm sure that Mark and the gang would think about it.

Jacoby

Thanks for the suggestion... It looks interesting

remarkk

Jacoby, I think a lot more info on this event would be helpful. On the wiki there isn't a statement of the vision of it, or what kind of people should attend or the format. People are interested, but participation seems spotty. There is lots in BarCamp.org to model after and lots of people on here that can help. I also recommend you contact Eli Malinsky at Centre for Social Innovation, as it is right up their alley.

I'd second the vote for having it at the Centre for Social Innovation.

Jacoby

Ah... I guess it would help if I was bit more descriptive. Wiki and upcoming have been updated. At this point I have booked the OBA centre... If this flies then I'll look at CSI for the next one.

Jacoby

It is amazing how people just arn't able to read your mind (jk)

Is there wifi at OBA? Would love to be able to blog this.

Jacoby

The site does not have wireless

remarkk

No wireless! ok, i'm coming, but seriously there's not much point in gathering somewhere without the basic infrastructure. How is the OneZone on Toronto Street? Wireless Toronto folks watching - any suggestions?

Jacoby

I have received an offer to bring a portable wifi hotspot. I'll know more soon.
