CMCE Statewide Leaders:
After Election Day, Citizen Action staff will be meeting with the newly elected Governor's policy staff to update the Clean Money, Clean Elections legislation. Because Citizen Action and other statewide partners originally wrote the CMCE legislation in 1998, it needs to be updated and changed to suit the needs of New York today.
As a CMCE Leader in New York, we need your input on the CMCE policy that will move forward this legislative session. Therefore, Citizen Action is hosting an CMCE Leaders Meeting on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 11am to 4pm in Albany. Please mark your calendars. I would like you to join us as one of the grassroots leaders, to be a part of this important process of discussing standards for the CMCE legislation.
Specific location of the meeting is on the way. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. If you cannot make this meeting, please think of someone else from your area who may be able to take your place and let me know. We'll also take some time during this meeting to discuss the 2007 campaign in depth. Once we have the policy, we need the campaign to push it through. Your input and work is vital to the success of CMCE passing the Assembly next year. It's been too long since we've all talked in person. Please join us Nov. 11th. Thank you all for your work this past year, and in some cases, many years before that.
