ABOUT THE TOUR

Sounds Like Suomi -tour brings four cutting edge dance/club music artists to perform in major cities in China. The tour follows last years succesful Sounds Like Suomi tour with Jori Hulkkonen, Huoratron, Cleaning Women & Ovali Virta.

The artists performing on this years tour are:

Jimi Tenor,
--Best described as techno's first cabaret star，This multitasking Finnish savant who’s also been called “the Elton John of Jazz” (cough) and “the Barry White of Finland” (gulp) plays kitsch music with an approach that is the musical equivalent of Andy Warhol’s pop art.

Helsinki Ghetto Bass Patrol,
--Founded in 2004, Helsinki Ghetto Bass Patrol is a team of two Deejays and one MC - a northern tribute to the ghettotech style of music hailing originally from Detroit, USA. The groups performances are brutally intense dance music and hi-energy shows that combine humourous and highly visual live-performaces with high class deejay and mc skills.

Them Shepherds
--Formed by Aku Raski (aka Huoratron) and Tuomas Laitinen in late 2004, they are one of the most talked about bands in Finland. Them Shepherds is a Helsinki-based duo that imaginatively marries organic instruments with electronic sounds, labeled electro-boogie by its authors.

Bankok Impact
-- Sami Liuski aka Bangkok Impact, like fellow Scandinavians Röyksopp and reclusive Scots duo Boards Of Canada, Sami has the enviable ability to remix his own environment, to lucidly transcribe his emotions into a lush, harmonious sound, his music is “electronic disco with elements from house and techno”. Bangkok Impact livesets are blend of old and new (even unreleased) tracks and is aimed for keeping the dancefloor happy.


There will also be concerts held in Finland prior to the tour.

The tour is scheduled between 8th and 24th of October 2006 around China. It will arrive in Shanghai on 21st,Oct, with supporting acts: I-GO, Ben Huang, DJ Riceman.

Starts at 9:30pm, 100rmb entrance fee, including one free drink.
