"The Live Billboard Project"
introduces site specific dance into the commercial theater that large-scale billboard advertising has become. "Live" means four dancers will be suspended within the billboard design. Collaborators include composer Carla Kihlstedt, Rigger Sean Riley, Set Designer David Fresrickson/figureplant, lighting by Mathew Antaky, and performances by Aimee Lam, Damara Ganley, and Jessica Swanson. "The Live Billboard Project" introduces the exquisite moving female body into the San Francisco skyline. Flyaway is creating the project to examine the effect of women's images in public space and to encourage conversation about loss of public space to corporate messaging.
