Frank A. Cappiello is probably best known from the PBS television series “Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser,” where he was a regular panelist for 32 years. On Sept. 21, he will share his economic insights with the public at the Frank M. Engle Lecture from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the La Grassa Auditorium at The American College’s Bryn Mawr, Pa. campus. “As a leading investment advisor and equities pundit, Mr. Cappiello’s reputation has been keen and global in perspective,” notes Dr. Larry Barton, President and Chief Executive Officer of The American College.

Cappiello is an expert on the national economy and is a recognized authority on investments. He has served on the faculty of John Hopkins University and is a distinguished visiting professor of finance at Loyola College. He was formerly the Chief Investment Officer for an insurance holding company and also served as Research Director of a major stock brokerage firm. Currently, Cappiello is Managing Director of Montgomery Brothers, Cappiello, LLC, an investment advisory firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and New York.

“Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser” was shown weekly on 250 stations with a viewing audience of nearly three million people, ending in 2002. Cappiello then joined Rukeyser’s successor show, “Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street,” on CNBC as a panelist. He has also made numerous appearances on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” CNN’s “Money Line” and CNN Financial’s “Market Sweep.” Cappiello has authored four books. One of his books, “Finding the Next Superstock” is in its eighth printing.

Cappiello is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. He served in the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant in an automatic weapons battalion, and is a recipient of the Navy Combat Ribbon.

The Engle Lecture aims to stimulate objective study of the economic life of the United States in the global economy, with particular emphasis on the social and economic impact of private and public economic security mechanisms.
